Museums and Galleries Volunteers

Improve access to our fascinating collections and enhance the visitor experience by helping behind the scenes at one of our inspiring museums and galleries. There are a number of volunteer roles available covering a wide range of activities including:

  • Supporting our collections team by photographing and researching museum objects.
  • Helping us to develop new community resources – such as our ‘Museum in a Box’ scheme.

This is an ideal role for: Someone who has an interest in local history or who likes to be creative and wants to encourage others to appreciate our local collections.

Time commitment: Varies accordingly to role but no more than 1 day a week.

Locations: Museums & galleries across Kirklees.

Training: Induction training will be provided for all our volunteers and in some cases, specific training appropriate to the role will also be provided.  Professional support and supervision will provided throughout.
