Befriender Westmoor Rehabilitation Suite
Locala Community Partnerships

Can you give some time and companionship to people who, as a result of accident or injury, have to take a short stay in a residential unit?  Westmoor Rehabilitation provides residential support to people want to remain independent but due to recent illness, or while recovering from a fracture, are unable to cope at home.  Having someone to talk to, or to do activities like jigsaws or gardening, can make a huge difference to their stay.

Be part of a busy hub organising services to enrich the lives of local older people and their families. Help out by answering telephones, taking messages, responding to  enquiries and welcoming visitors. You’ll be asked to enter data into spreadsheets and databases and to organise mailouts to other volunteers.

Loneliness is a growing problem. Befriending means regularly visiting and spending time with someone, offering company and conversation. Sometimes people sit and chat over a cup of tea, or play board games, watch TV or go out to a cafe.
